Las Vegas, May 15, 2017 – Every Tuesday and Friday for the month of June 2017, Lions HealthFirst is providing free screenings of the carotid arteries for early detection of blockages or dangerous buildup of plaque in the arteries leading to the brain. Screenings are safe, use no radiation, no needles, are non-invasive, and take only about 15 minutes.
“After age 50, everyone should have a preventative health screening for the early detection of excessive plaque buildup or blockages in the carotid arteries. Undetected blockages are a leading cause of stroke,” according to Project Director Sol Lee:
Lee went on to say: “Alvin Lin, MD, is the medical director of the Lions HealthFirst Foundation and the Foundation maintains working relationships with numerous local physicians, cardiologists and radiologists.”
HealthFirst is the only full time provider of free to low cost medical screening services of its kind and has provided preventive screening services to over 1,500 local Lions Club members and the local senior community.
Lions HealthFirst is a medical charity based in Las Vegas and is celebrating its 10th anniversary. It maintains an ultrasound medical imaging center at 3430 East Flamingo Road, Suite 251, Las Vegas, Nevada 89121. Screenings are performed from 9 am to 1 pm.
